Music From The Cancelled Future

ALBUM, DISTRIBUTION METHOD, INSTALLATION · 2025   ⚖️ Lossless

The classical definition of the “album” since streaming first emerged, is not how music is consumed anymore. An album is a collection of songs released at one time, to be sorted onto Spotify playlists, TikTok trends, and Instagram stories.

Music From The Cancelled Future (MFTCF) is an album of the present. The subject matter of the songs include the blurring of time, losing meaning, “ice-creamification” of art, conversing with the past through samples, and space-time. Each track was dispersed on different online platforms, the newest musical instrument. The album exists everywhere and nowhere, mimicking how people exist online.

The physical embodiment of the album is a sound structure, standing eye level with the viewer, allowing the audience to listen to the album at a human height.
